"Random" is the right word for my favorites. 8 years accommodates a wide range of taste.

Holy shit it's been a while hasn't it nerds

So I will fully admit I am a) never here and b) a lazy piece of shit when it comes to art
(c i was for a long time still recovering from a lot of betrayal from someone that used this site a lot so I avoided it but that's not really a problem anymore since I'm over her and she's never on here apparently lol)

I AM doing art, but it's mostly cosplay/costuming, ironically being an art teacher means you never have time for your own art

BUT.  Here's the thing.  Every time I log in there's like 100 notifications about my drawing hands tutorial I did like 7 fucking years ago in college and now, I teach art full-time at a middle school and I have many, like, teaching skills and I can explain shit a lot better

I'm thinking I might just start putting tutorials up on here?  I also want to start an actual art teacher blog with my lessons and ideas and shit but no one really cares about that here

so?  Maybe I will actually post something to this garbage site sometime that's helpful to others?  I do like doing that.  It's great to see the comments about how my tutorials helped people understand hands/eyes/whatnot like that is really gratifying to me (obviously, I did become a teacher after all).

If there's something you're really struggling with drawing wise tell me here or in a message and I'll probably do a tutorial of it eventually.  Sound good?

Yo womin. Firstly- epic costume. Secondly- long time no see. Thirdly- Got a question.
Whar do you and Cel buy your contacts? Saung and I got 2 pairs from a company that had a few reviews that were good- they were red ones that glowed under a black light. One of the contacts ripped while in his eye, and after several attempts of trying to get one in I flipped out and gave up. Though that isn't the company's fault. They also traveled a lot really bad- which made it /very/ hard to see. Overall I'm sketched out by them more than before but if I got some from a decent place I might try them out again. :S

Haayyy gurl hayyy thank you!

there you go my friend.  I've only ordered myself from colored-contacts-hut, but I've heard of the others as being good.

Basically with contacts you're looking for contacts that are FDA approved and who use quality paint on the lens.  There are a few good sites from Japan/China but I prefer to buy from the UK and have never had a reason not to.  Also remember that overall, you get what you pay for.  I shell out $30 PER CONTACT for prescription lenses; without a prescription you're looking for ALT LEAST $10-20 per contact.  Some sites will tell you if they're weighted at all to stay on the iris (this is of course preferred because you don't want it to travel, and necessary if it's something like a slitted pupil), so look for that as well.

As with any online shopping, looking for ones with customer reviews, FAQ, and a good website are all indicators that the contacts will be quality.

When you get your contacts, clean them in contact saline solution and keep them safe in one of the contact containers.  Wash your hands thoroughly before you handle them.  If you're not used to putting in contacts, I recommend practicing with them weeks before the event so you're more confident getting them into your eye and so you're not pressured for time.  If a contact hurts when it's in your eye and centered on your iris, it is an indication that something is wrong; the contact could be inside-out or dirty (more likely with colored contacts who have an obvious in and outside).  Be on the lookout for hair, towel fibers, and makeup on your contacts.  Also, put on contacts *before* doing your makeup, particularly makeup around your eyes.

Hope that helps!!  Let me know if you have any more questions!
